Costuming

Director: Lee Cox

They entertain, amaze, possibly even shock. and Dragon*Con is surrounded by them. What goes into the costumes, props, and makeup you love and how can you do it yourself? Step inside and find out. Our experts discuss everything from corsets to armor, medieval to futuristic, apparel to props, make up to mechanics, and more. Beginner costumers, semi-pros and everyone in between will find something here.

2012 brought a wide range of programming spectacle to Costuming Track. Some of our highlights included makeup demonstrations and discussions from RJ Haddy of season 2, FaceOff (SyFy) and Roy Wooly, Laura Tyler-Dandridge, CC Childs & Derek Garcia from season 3. Jordu Schell stopped by to talk about his work in film and television and the Engineer Guy street team taught us how to dress like a super hero and later gave a demo in the latest in makeup technology. Cheralyn Lambeth (Jim Henson & Paramount) helped out with puppet/costume hybrids and authors Mary Abreu and Kathleen O'Shea David shared their costuming expertise for their related fields.  Resident mad scientists gave lessons in using tech in costuming and the costuming dream team of degreed costumers entertained with their expertise (and shenanigans).

All panels were designed around request by you, the fans. We are already planning 2013. Contact us at our site, Facebook, Twitter, Live Journal, or Google + to share your wish list.

Perhaps you are merely costuming curious. We're also a great place to see some of the most spectacular costumes that our fans have to offer.

Stop by to enjoy our "mini-exhibit" or attend any one of our contests and events. Each year we host:
