Emerald Rose
Emerald Rose is one of the top Celtic folk-rock bands in the US, with a fan base that extends worldwide. A rich "world fusion" sound with influences ranging from traditional folk songs, classic rock, punk and alternative rock has given this band a seventeen-year career and an international following. Blending vocal harmonies, pennywhistle and world percussion with driving guitars and bass, their sound is "rock-n-reel" but not ear-splitting. Brian Sullivan, Arthur Hinds, Larry Morris, and Clyde Gilbert formed Emerald Rose in late 1996, and have released 10 CDs since their first self-titled collection Emerald Rose in 1998. Their limited-edition release Songs for the Night Sky commemorated their association with the works and movies based on J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings, including their appearances with the cast and crew in Hollywood after the Academy Awards in 2003 and 2004. Emerald Rose music has been included many documentary and motion picture soundtracks, including Sony Pictures’ Ringers: Lord of the Fans (Lord of the Rings) and Done the Impossible (Firefly/Serenity). The band performs across the USA and has led multiple tours of Ireland. The band frequently performs at Celtic festivals and science fiction and fantasy conventions.
