Todd Lockwood
Todd Lockwood creates his images with a mystic combination of acrylics, oils, Corel Painter, Photoshop, blood, epithets, secret incantations, and vodka. His artwork has appeared on New York Times best-selling novels, magazines, video games, collectible card games, and fantasy role-playing games. They redefined the look of R.A. Salvatore’s popular Drizzt novels, and grace the covers of books by Tad Williams, CJ Cherryh, Jennifer Roberson, Mercedes Lackey, and others. Wizards of the Coast employed him to redefine the look of the popular Dungeons and Dragons game for its Third Edition release. Most distinctly, Todd modified the look of their dragons, giving them a new and dynamic realism. His work has been honored with multiple appearances in Spectrum and the Communication Arts Illustration Annual, thirteen Chesley Awards including the 2004 award for Artistic Achievement, and numerous other industry honors. Always known for the narrative power of his paintings, Todd now turns his hand to writing as well. With short stories already published, he is working on a fantasy novel to be published by DAW Books at a date still to be determined.
