Richard Lee Byers is the author of thirty-five fantasy and horror novels, including several set in the Forgotten Realms universe. His titles include Dissolution, The Captive Flame, Whisper of Venom, The Spectral Blaze, and The Masked Witches. His next three novels will be Blind God's Bluff (January, 2013), the first in a new urban fantasy series, Called to Darkness (January, 2013), his first Pathfinder novel, and Prophet of the Dead (February, 2013), his new Forgotten Realms book. Along with Ed Greenwood, R. A. Salvatore, Paul S. Kemp, Troy Denning, and Erin M. Evans, he is one of the writers creating The Sundering, the six-book series that will move the Realms into a new era.

Byers is also the creator of the post-apocalyptic superhero ebook series The Impostor and writes a column for the science fiction news site Airlock Alpha. His short fiction has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies.
