Diana Peterfreund is the author of nine books for adults and teens, including the 4-book Secret Society Girl series, the "killer unicorn novels" Rampant and Ascendant, and the post-apocalyptic For Darkness Shows the Stars and Across a Star-Swept Sea, which are based on the classic novels Persuasion and The Scarlet Pimpernel, respectively. Her critically acclaimed short stories have appeared in The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year, vol. 5, and on the Locus Best of 2010 lists. She has also published many essays on popular children's fantasy and science fiction, from Narnia to The Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments.
