Paul McGinnis
Paul McGinnis has been a puppeteer for Sesame Street since 2001. His other television and film credits include The Muppets, Crank Yankers, Warren the Ape, Crash & Bernstein, Felt, The West Wing, It’s a Big Big World, Dog With a Blog, The Book of Pooh, Greg the Bunny, and Between the Lions. He has appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, The View, The Early Show, Top Chef, The Chew, The Isaac Mizrahi Show, The Paula Poundstone Show, and The Daytime Emmy Awards.
Paul has puppeteered for such viral video hits as Sesame Street’s Old Spice parody "Smells Like a Monster" starring Grover, Sesame Street’s Call Me Maybe parody "Share It Maybe" starring Cookie Monster, and Broadway’s The [title of show] Show.
He also puppeteered for the XBox 360 Kinect games Kinect Sesame Street TV and Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster.
On stage, Paul puppeteered the Audrey II puppets for the first national Broadway tour of Little Shop of Horrors. He also manipulated the life-size puppets for the national tour of Walking With Dinosaurs: The Arena Spectacular. He produces his own works of puppetry for screen and stage, and particularly enjoys creating Bunraku-style puppet projects that showcase current dance trends and other types of dynamic movement.
Paul grew up in Huntington Beach, California, and currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
