Digital Gaming

Director: Gail Reese

In 2012, we saw the return of PCs to the Digital Gaming area. It was a huge success. Dragon*Con attendees had access to Steam, Blizzard, Riot, and many other game companies. One night, several developers from Riot joined us and played an eight-on-eight League of Legends game with the fans. Hi Rez stopped by with some in-game swag and promo items; did a Q&A session; and also ran a play with a developer game of Tribes: Ascend. On Sunday, Bob Carter, the voice of several video game characters including Baraka and Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat, stopped by and talked with fans. He is a great performer who really enjoys the games and the fans. While two convention attendees played Mortal Kombat, Bob stood behind them and added his voice to the action which made for some great Dragon*Con moments. We had lots of participation in the tournaments and sincerely thank the fans and players. Finally, we want to thank Atlanta's own Battle and Brew for their corporate support and all the work they did helping to make the area a success.

For 2013, we are looking forward to being even bigger and better. We hope to add more games to the console library; more demos and play with the pros events; more of the voice actors stopping by; and, who knows...maybe even a Video Game Character Costume Contest (shhhh...it’s not official yet).

Stay tuned for all that is to come in 2013 to help make your Dragon*Con experience even better!!!
