Celebrate summer’s end with the Aspen Comics Beach Party during Dragon*Con Night at the Georgia Aquarium!

2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Aspen Comics, and the 15th anniversary of their flagship title “Fathom”, and the year-long celebration culminates with a roster of exciting programs at the Southeast’s largest gathering of pop culture enthusiasts. Dragon*Con is proud to announce that Aspen Comics will be returning to Atlanta this Labor Day weekend, and is planning to celebrate their milestone year with a truly special event – the Aspen Comics Beach Party, taking place during Dragon*Con Night at the Georgia Aquarium!

Featuring DJ Spider and an Aspen-themed costume contest (with fantastic prizes from the creators of Aspen Comics’ top-selling lineup of titles, to be announced soon), this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the amazing Georgia Aquarium while commemorating a special calendar year for one of the industry’s most respected and beloved comics publishers.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a true Dragon*Con event if it didn’t offer something above and beyond the typical con expectation. With that in mind, attendees will not want to miss out as the artisans behind “Fathom” – the best-selling comic title that plunges fans into the mystery and enchantment of the world beneath the ocean’s surface – dive LIVE with the incredible whale sharks of the Georgia Aquarium! No other venue could be more “Fathom”-centric or provide a more breathtaking backdrop for the Aspen team as they explore the captivating underwater environment of this spectacular Atlanta landmark.

Aspen Comics is currently planning several exciting Dragon*Con exclusives, including the debut release of Frank Mastromauro’s “Overtaken” #1, as Frank, Peter Steigerwald, Alex Konat, and Siya Oum make guest appearances at the Aspen booth in Comics and Pop Artists Alley, located in Grand Hall East of the Hyatt Regency.
