The results are in!

After over 39,000 votes were cast, the results are in and we are proud to announce our official 2013 charities.

With 66% of the vote, Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, which shelters injured, abused, or unwanted exotic animals, was the overwhelming favorite of voters.  The organization will receive half of the money raised throughout the convention including a matching contribution from Dragon*Con of up to $50,000.

Georgia Conservancy, which placed second in the poll, will receive 30% of the funds raised and Marcus Autism Center, in third place, will receive 20%.

Since 2005, we has raised almost $224,000 for our official charities, which change each year.  

In addition to our official charity fundraising that takes place during the annual convention, we have donated $265,000 of profits to The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and other organizations. 

Now that we have selected our wonderful charities, we are excited to get started planning how we can raise as much money as possible for these worthy causes.
