Science Fiction Literature
Director: Sue Phillips
Dragon*Con's Science Fiction Literature track offers fans of the written work a place to talk about their favorite, to ask questions of authors, to learn some of the history of the genre and to throw seriousness out the window and play games connected to the stuff we love to read. Publishers will continue to give us enticing views of things we MUST have on our bookshelves and fans will continue to disagree over what makes it real science fiction. Join us in 2013 to find out more.
In 2012 we highlighted our publishers and authors - without them we wouldn't be here. Baen, TOR and Pyr books introduced us to their upcoming lines and whetted our appetites for more. We showcased the state of black science fiction and talked about belief systems. We also had a lot of fun playing SF Jeopardy and SF Win, Lose or Draw fighting for what fictional space ship would win in a throwdown. We cannot be a good track without you, the fans, so please contact us with any thoughts, suggestions or concerns.
Next year, we expect to have some of the same stuff and some new things. There is always something new to discuss in Science Fiction. There will always be the next great thing as well as the great things from yesteryear to introduce to people who may not have experienced it yet.
You can also find us at dcsflit@yahoogroups.com, on Facebook at Dragoncon SciFi LIterature or on Twitter at #dcsflit. We have discussions throughout the year on what we would like to cover and suggestions from fans for topics to discuss at the convention are always welcome.
