My new cat won't stop jumping all over the kitchen counters. Is there anything I can do about it?

Your cat has taken up kitchen counter climbing for a hobby. You’ve tried to discourage her, but kitty is just too passionate about her pastime – what to do?

Cats are naturally curious critters. So try taking away any objects such as food or hanging items that might be prompting your kitty Columbus to explore the counter.

Also keep in mind that kitty may like counters because of their height. High places appeal to cats for a variety of reasons – they signify dominant status, are good observation points, and are a great place to escape to if kitty’s feeling a little anxious. So consider providing your cat with another high perch or climbing tree, from which she can watch the world go by.
