Trainer Chris McLeod began training dogs upon the adoption of her spunky Brittany, Calico. Desperately looking for a way to channel the puppy’s high energy level, Chris looked to agility training. From there, she gained experience with other canine sports and went on to enter a variety of competitions, many of which gained her dogs titles in agility, dock diving and flying disc.
As an avid animal lover and advocate for responsible pet ownership, Chris travels across the country sharing her passion for dogs and entertaining audiences everywhere as part of the Purina® Incredible Dog Team.
Chris’ entourage includes six incredible dogs that perform acrobatic freestyle flying disc routines all around the country. Calico, the yodeling 8-year-old Brittany, is the most experienced team member and was ranked as the No. 2 Brittany in American Kennel Club agility. Dante, the 6-year-old Border Collie, is a dynamite flying disc dog who holds the 2006 Greater Atlanta Dog and Disc Club championship title. Colby, a 4-year-old Bearded Collie, is a crowd favorite wherever he appears with his buoyant personality and high-flying leaps. Deuce, a 2-year-old Border Collie, loves to amaze the crowd with his speed and zest by snagging the disc in mid-air. He also loves to socialize with the crowds and show off his colorful personality. The youngest pups of the group, Jack and Déjà vu, are already showing off their athleticism with spectacular flips and high-speed pursuit of the disc.
Through performances with her canine team, Chris wants to provide hope to pet owners of high energy dogs by educating them on the tremendous amount of possibilities that can come as a result as long as they take the time to channel their dog’s energy through proper training.
When Chris is not traveling across the country performing at pet shows and competitions, she enjoys spending time hiking and boating with her husband in the Georgia mountains. Chris jumps at every opportunity to visit new places, especially when it involves a trip to the mountains of Northern California and Colorado.
