Annual Events, Birthdays, & Field Trips

2019 Annual Events

Each season, Purina Farms hosts special annual gatherings. From egg hunts to trick-or-treating, families can celebrate their favorite holidays at Purina Farms. All of our celebrations are family-friendly, and some are even dog-friendly.

  • Purina Farms Pet Project Day: June 9. Pet lovers of all ages can participate in service projects benefiting needy pets. Also, meet adoptable pets! Each activity is $5 with a portion of proceeds benefiting the animal welfare groups at the event. Click HERE for more information. No reservations necessary. 

  • Purina Farms Countrytime Festival: June 15 – 16. at the Visitor Center from 9:30 – 3:30p.m. each day. Listen to toe-tapping music by Nashville band Royal South and local band Wildhorse Creek. Enjoy a BBQ meal and a glass of wine or beer from local vendors. Plus, kids can play more than 15 different at the Kids Carnival as well as ride a trackless train. $10/parking.  No reservations necessary, except for large groups of 15 or more.   • Purina Farms Trucks & Tails: September 8 from 10a.m. – 2p.m. at the Visitor Center. See big construction vehicles and farming equipment along with various breeds of dogs in this perfect pairing event. From fire trucks and Dalmatians to Bulldozers and Bulldogs, this family-friendly event is fun for all. Admission is free. Parking is $5/car. No reservations necessary. More information to come in July 2019. Note: Dogs are welcome to attend too.

  • Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge Qualifiers and Practice: September 27 from 9a.m. – 4p.m. in the Main Show Field. More information to come in August 2019.

  • Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge National Championships: September 28, 2019 from 11a.m. – 4p.m. in the Main Show Field. More information to come in August 2019.

  • Purina Farms International Cheese, Wine & Canine Festival: September 28, 2019 from 6p.m. – 9p.m. inside the Purina Event Center. Sample wines from around the world while meeting 40 different breeds of dogs originating from a variety of countries. Plus enjoy unique entertainment from belly dancers, Irish dancers, German dancers and Scottish dancers. Tickets must be pre-purchased online. More details to come in May 2019.

  • Purina Farms Howl-o-ween Fest: October 18-20 and October 25-27. Hours are 4p.m. – 9p.m. on Fridays and 11a.m. – 9p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. No reservations necessary except for large groups of 15 or more. Call 314-982-3232 M-F between 9:30 am - 3:30 pm for more information. $15/car paid parking includes all Howl-o-Ween Fest activities. Note: Dogs are also welcome to attend. More information to come in August 2019.

  • Purina Farms Trunk or Treat for Kids and Dogs: October 19 & 26. Tickets must be pre-purchased. More information to come in August 2019.

  • Pooch Playdate: Nov 9-10 from 11a.m. – 3p.m. each day. Play more than 18 games with your dog. No reservations necessary. Admission is $10/dog. Their people attend for freeJ Parking is free.

  • Purina Farms Breakfast & Craft Workshop with Santa: Dec 14 & 15 from 8:30a.m. – 10a.m. each day. Tickets must be pre-purchased. More information coming in September 2019.

  • Purina Farms Pet-acular Holiday Bazaar: Dec 14 & 15 from 10a.m. – 3p.m. Admission is free, but kids can take part in a special kids activity area for $5. Parking is free. No reservations necessary. More information in coming in September 2019.

Other Annual Events
  • Petapalooza: hosted by CBS Radio: August 25 from 11a.m. – 4p.m. inside the Purina Event Center. No reservations necessary. $5 parking. More information coming in June 2019.

  • Canine Games: October 13 from 10a.m. – 4p.m. open to all local dogs and dog lovers.  The event features more than 20 different novice canine activities including chasing a lure, running an obstacle course and timed races. Don't forget to also participate in the Canine Costume Parade at 2:30p.m. during Canine Games. More information coming in August 2019.

Host A Paw-ty

We would love to host your child’s birthday here at Purina Farms.  Paw-ties, which are animal-centric, can take place Thursday – Sunday between the hours of 10a.m. – 2p.m. and are hosted in a 30x30 party tent right next to the Purina Farms gift shop and pet center. We offer 3 different party packages ranging from $100-$200 with several add-on entertainment options available. 

We would also love to host a Pooch Paw-ty for your favorite canine pal. Find out more here.

Field Trips and Pets In The Community Program

Thousands of St. Louis-area school children travel to Purina Farms every year on field trips. The educational emphasis of Purina Farms makes it perfect for integrating into the curriculum of preschool and elementary school students. See our FIELD TRIP GUIDELINES. Purina Farms also offers an outreach program for the Greater St. Louis area that takes all the best parts of Purina Farms and takes them on the road to entertain and promote proper pet care. The program is open to hospitals, schools, fairs, festivals, rehabilitation centers and any community establishment that is open to learning more about how pets and people are better together!

Note: If you are a local school and you would like the program to come to your school for an all-school assembly, then see below.

School assemblies are scheduled December – February. The school program is FREE for Greater St. Louis area schools and consists of the Purina Farms trainers and their amazing canine pets educating kids on responsible pet ownership and entertaining them with action-packed flying disc performances. The request period for schools starts the Tuesday after Labor Day each year and runs two weeks. All schools picked for the program will be notified by October 1 each year.
