2017 Annual Events

Each season, Purina Farms hosts special annual gatherings. From egg hunts to trick-or-treating, families can celebrate their favorite holidays at Purina Farms. All of our celebrations are family-friendly, and some are even dog-friendly. Our celebrations include:

  • Responsible Pet Owners Day: February 19 from 11a.m.-2p.m. at the Purina Event Center. Take advantage of low-cost vaccination and microchipping offers as well as nail trims, dog washes and ask the expert booths. Watch a 12:30p.m. flying disc performance by the Pro Plan Performance Team. Also, enjoy a kids education area hosted by the Humane Society of Missouri where each child can adopt a stuffed dog or cat (while supplies last).   • Springtime Village: Wednesdays-Sundays between March 29, 2017 - April 15, 2017. Note: The Visitor Center will be closed on Easter on April 16, 2017. Call 314-982-3232 to make reservations.
  • Egg Hunts: April 8, 2017 at 11a.m. & 2p.m. for kids and 12p.m. & 3p.m. for dogs. Tickets must be pre-purchased. Click HERE to purchase tickets.
  • Countrytime BBQ & Bluegrass Festival featuring the Kids Carnival: June 17 & 18, 2017
  • Back to School Fun Fair: August 5 & 6, 2017. Win school supplies and treat your kids to games and inflatable bounce houses.
  • Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge National Championships: September 30, 2017
  • Haunted Hayloft: October 20-22, 2017 & October 27-29, 2017
  • Trunk and Treat for Kids & Dogs: October 21, 2017. Tickets must be pre-purchased. Check back on September 1, 2017 for the ticket link

Other Annual Events

  • 5th Annual Veterans Charity Car Show: August 19, 2017 from 11AM - 3PM
  • Canine Games for all local dogs and dog lovers: Saturday, October 15, 2017. More than 20 different novice canine activities including chasing a lure, running an obstacle course and timed races. Don't forget to also participate in the Canine Costume Contest at 2:30p.m. during Canine Games. 2 events are pre-registration only - Diving Dog Splashes and Canine Good Citizen.   • Petapalooza for dogs and their people hosted by CBS Radio: Sunday, August 27, 2017
  • Pooch Playdate: January 7 & 8, 2017 and March 25 & 26, 2017 from 11AM - 3PM each day. Admission is $5 per person with all proceeds benefiting local pet welfare organizations. Dogs play in an indoor playground featuring more than 18 different fun activities and games.
  • Tough Enuff to JUMP! Spring and Fall Fundraisers April 29 & Sept 23. Test your dog’s aptitude for diving dog while raising money for a good cause.
  • Open Summer 2017 Practice Sessions - FLYER coming: Practice agility, obedience, rally and conformation on select days throughout the year. $10 per person with proceeds benefiting local St. Louis pet welfare organizations. Payment for sessions must be made by check.

Birthday Parties

If you’re searching for a way to celebrate your child’s birthday, Purina Farms would love to host your party. All parties must take place on Saturday or Sunday between 10AM and 2PM. 

Our parties include all of these features:

  • Boxed lunches with chicken nuggets along with chips, dessert and a juice
  • Customized cupcakes with ice cream
  • 25% off a gift from the Purina Farms gift shop for every child at the party
  • A group wagon ride around the property and up-close-and-personal photo opportunities with some of our animals
  • The birthday boy or girl is acknowledged during the Pro Plan Performance Team Dog Show and he or she gets to be one of the volunteers to milk the cow
  • Printed Purina Farms invitations to send to friends and family

Field Trips

Thousands of St. Louis-area school children travel to Purina Farms every year on field trips. The educational emphasis of Purina Farms makes it perfect for integrating into the curriculum of preschool and elementary school students. From December - February, schools from around the Greater St. Louis area can request the Purina Farms Pets In The Community Program for an all school assembly. The program consists of the Purina Farms trainers and their rescued pets educating kids on responsible pet ownership and entertaining them with amazing canine flying disc performances. Visit Community Outreach to find out how to request the program.
