Dog Shows Give a Glimpse of Dog Breeds at Their Best
The National Dog Show
There are traditions aplenty on Thanksgiving Day. One that’s been a part of the day for 16 years is the National Dog Show. The event is steeped in history and is one of the oldest dog shows in the nation. Purina is a long-time sponsor of the celebration of dogs. The ceremony and drama of the day is one we are proud to be a part of. This year, as in others, we join the American Kennel Club and NBC to introduce families across the country to the celebration of purebred dogs. There’s so much going on in the show—it’s an experience.
The Westminster Dog Show
Dog enthusiasts nationwide tune in every year to the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show broadcast live from New York City. Proudly sponsored by Purina® Pro Plan®, Westminster showcases the impressive genetics, top-of-the-line training, and unique traits of more than 200 AKC-recognized dog breeds. And though each dog is exceptional, only one will break through to victory and claim the Best In Show title. For 11 of the last 12 years, each of these champions was fueled by the advanced nutrition of Pro Plan. Will the winning streak continue?
Beverly Hills Dog Show
Canine celebrities bedazzled all, as they strolled down the red carpet runway on their way to Best in Show judging at the second annual Beverly Hills Dog Show Presented by Purina. Featuring six of seven Group First winners fed Purina Pro Plan, the star-studded lineup shined with Top 100 dogs, many ranked No. 1 in their breed. Casting his Best in Show decision, Judge James G. Reynolds of Nepean, Ontario, Canada, chose a 6 ½-year-old Wire Fox Terrier, GCH Kingarthur Van Forliny Home, called “King.”
