We celebrate dogs every day at Purina and we are so grateful for the unconditional love and comfort they provide. The National Dog Show presented by Purina has always been a celebration of dogs and this connection we share. On Thanksgiving Day, 2018, we invited pet owners across the nation to share why they were thankful for their pet.
Purina recognizes the important role dogs play in our lives. They provide companionship, comfort and more,
which is why we think it’s so important to thank them by giving back whenever we can.
Tony LaRussa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) Pets & Vets Program launched in 2011 to pair shelter pets with veterans coping with PTSD, anxiety and other challenges as they transition back to civilian life following their service. Purina donated a total of $25,000 to ARF in support of programs like Pets & Vets following the 2018 #DogThanking campaign.**
This year, Purina donated a combined $60,000 to disaster relief efforts following the California wildfires and Hurricane Florence. We also donated 25,000 pounds in pet food and litter to pets affected by Hurricane Michael. See how those funds were used to help the people and pets affected by these disasters.
