Kittens generally nibble solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Keep moistened Purina Kitten Chow Nurture available to these kittens at all times. Just add one part liquid to three parts Purina Kitten Chow Nurture, changing frequently to ensure freshness. After weaning, at 6 - 8 weeks of age, kittens will normally eat dry or moistened food at will. Start a self-feeding program, leaving food in dish at all times. Feeding amounts should be adjusted as necessary to help your kitten maintain an ideal body condition. Because kittens continue to develop throughout their first year, it's important that they get the extra nutrition of Purina Kitten Chow Nurture for a full 12 months. After one year of age, transition to the Purina Cat Chow formula that’s right for your cat.
FEEDING FOR REPRODUCTION
Purina Kitten Chow Nurture provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
Changes in your cat’s diet should be made gradually to allow your cat to become accustomed to a new food. Substitute small amounts of the new food for the old food, gradually increasing the amount of the new food while decreasing the old food, over a period of 7 - 10 days. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
Provide adequate fresh water in a clean bowl daily.
For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.

My 8 yr. old cat produced 5 beautiful grandkitties to the dismay of her and myself. Since we were blissfully unawhere.,she received no care prenatal,We fed her the kitten chow until the babies were able to eat on their own.My vet sates all is well with the kittens and she is better than ever. Thanks again Purina.!
My cats loved this food as kittens!!! When I got my second one, I had to the Kitten Chow away from her big sister. I had to keep it away from her big sister. I also buy this for the kittens in my local shelter. :)
I'm a very picky feeder when it comes to what I feed my animals. My kitten is still being bottle fed (he was abandoned) so I mixed this with his kitten milk formula to soften it up and he can't get enough of it.
Tinkerbell ate this after I weaned her for a year and then when Sparta came to live with me there was no question about what she would also be eating once she was weaned. It keeps kittens healthy so that they have the energy to learn all the wonderful little kitty behaviors they must learn to be a good cat.
Of all of the dry kitten foods available, the shelter adores Purina Kitten Chow ! By far, the shelter favorite....and even the most reclusive kitten has come to a bowl of fresh Purina Kitten Chow. A true life-saver when inticing semi-feral kittens to eat so that we can catch them, save them, and get them ready for their "forever homes."
Many a kitten born to a feral mom owes their new lives to Purina Kitten Chow...
I have a kitten who of course, loves this food. However, I also have a 114 year old cat who has lost some teeth and he really likes it since it is made of small pieces that he can easily chew.
I think it is very, very expensive for such a small bag in Walmart, however.
Ms Kitty was a kitten that was brought to my husbands shop and needed a home . We have 5 dogs and now ms . kitty I wouldn't take her back for anything she was on another brand of food when she came here and now will eat nothing but her kitten chow
My kitten loved this starter food so well when i tried to change her ot another kind...she refused to eat...Purina Cat & Kitten Chow is the Best to Samantha liking!!!!
My Kitten loves this food. She is very active and growing fast. My friend has her brother and She is 3 to 4 times bigger then him.
We ALWAYS choose this for our kittens at the shelter. They love it! Plus it's very good for them.
