I do a bit of animal rescue, both on my own and with various rescue organizations like Neighborhood Cats, The ASPCA, and Alley Cat Allies. Needless to say, I eat up--or rather the animals do--a lot of pet food, particularly cat food.
In the course of all the rescues I've managed to "obtain(?)" seven cats of my own, all of varying weights, ages and likes (and dislikes). I've tried numerous brands of cat food and there was never one single food that everyone of my kitties liked. There was always that one or two that would take one whiff and walk away from it or, worse, vomit within moments of eating it. I can't afford the best foods for all the rescues and strays I've encountered and those I still care for, but I always find a flavor or two that almost all of them will tolerate well, and that always seems to be one of Purina's. But with my own cats, of course, I'll go as far as my pockets will allow as long as it makes them happy and healthy.
Attempting to replenish my always dwindling supply of cat food, I saw Purina's Beyond brand one day. I read the ingredients on the label and, liking what I saw, I decided to give it a try. Next morning, as usual, I put the bowls down and took a few steps back to watch, paper towels and cleaning cloths at the ready.
As the bowls slowly emptied, I actually stood there pretty stunned for a few minutes. EVERY ONE of my cats ate it. This was each one, from my 10 year old male to my one year old female, including Freckles with her amazing ability to regurgitate the food so fast it usually ends up in the same bowl she ate it from. Even Allison Katherine
(aka 'Allie Kat') loved it. Allie's the one who likes to eat the food, then let it sit for a few minutes before she makes her decision to projectile vomit it from a spot up high so that the spray reaches into every crevice she can hit from her vantage point.
I finally shook myself out of my dazed amazement and reached down to pick up all seven empty bowls, something I'd never been able to do before that day. Assuming this was simply a one-in-a million kind of flukey thing, I repeated it the next day. And the next, and the next....
Now, some six months later, I no longer have to clean up Allie's puke or Freckles' regurge. Oh sure, every once in a while it still appears. Now though it's a gift of remembrance, or that's how I like to think of it now anyway.
All I can say is that Purina's Beyond Brand has given me back my babies, and some extra time to spend WITH them, instead of cleaning up AFTER them. They especially love the Grain-Free Whitefish and Egg (though they also like the Chicken Recipe, just not as much).
So if you want your cats to be happier, to stop regurgitating or vomiting, and to have the smoothest and silkiest coats and the brightest eyes you've ever seen on them, I strongly suggest you try Beyond. I truly believe you won't be sorry.
Oh, and my 10 year old? He's been running around like a kitten again. I LOVE it!
My little ones say, "Thanks, Purina!"
PS I do NOT work for Purina or any of their affiliates, if that's what you're thinking.
