I have to small breed dogs. Roscoe, 11yo, Chihuahua Yorkey mix, is a picky eater. Bruce, short hair chihuahua, 3yo, we eat ANY food you put in his path. Both dogs refuse to eat the dog food. When I opened the sample liquid flew everywhere. Undeterred I divide and put half in each dish. Each dog gave it a sniff a back away quickly. I tried a couple more times to; no dice.
You had me until I saw the ingredient carrageenan. Why do you add this to your dog food? Carrageenan has been known to irritate digestive systems in humans as well as dogs. Gastric inflammation is a common reaction for dogs who eat foods with carrageenan as an additive.
My dog isn’t a picky eater and normally he loves wet food, but I put this in his bowl and after sniffing it once he turned his nose up at it. I left it overnight and by late next morning it remained untouched. So unfortunately I had to toss it. Not sure what the deal was, but this food was a complete no go for my little doggo.
