Hurricane Michael Disaster Relief Efforts
Our hearts go out to the thousands of families and pets affected by Hurricane Michael. As one of the strongest hurricanes to ever hit the U.S., this natural disaster has caused extensive damage across the Florida panhandle and surrounding states, including Georgia, Virginia and the Carolinas, which are still recovering from Hurricane Florence less than a month ago.
Purina has partnered with Rescue Bank of GreaterGood.org to distribute 25,000 pounds of pet food and cat litter to organizations assisting with emergency response efforts for pets in the area. Additionally, Purina Shelter Champions partners across the country are aiding shelters in the southeast by transporting and sheltering hundreds of pets displaced by the hurricane.
We’re also a proud partner with the PetFinder Foundation. They provide grants to animal care organizations in areas affected by natural disasters, including hurricanes, floods, wildfires and other emergency situations.
Purina’s Dedication to Helping People & Pets in Need
Earlier this year, Purina donated $25,000 to aid in the California wildfire disaster relief efforts. We donated another $25,000 and 12,000 pounds of pet food and litter to support victims of Hurricane Florence.
In 2017, Purina donated nearly $60,000 to support the disaster relief efforts following Hurricanes Maria, Harvey and Irma. More than 350,000 pounds of pet food and litter were also donated to support people and their pets.
